Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 6, 2026
Welcome to The Guidepost ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and providing a clear roadmap for how data is handled across our strategic consultancy services and our mobile software utilities.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in two distinct areas of our business:
Our general consultancy services, website, and professional interactions.
Our mobile applications (including ShiftGuard) distributed via the Apple App Store.
1. General Consultancy & Website Privacy
This section applies to individuals who visit our website, engage with our instructional design or marketing consulting services, or communicate with us directly.
Information We Collect
Voluntary Contact Information: When you reach out via email, contact forms, or professional networks, we may collect your name, business email address, phone number, and any project-specific details you choose to share.
Usage Data: We may collect non-identifiable, aggregate data regarding website traffic (such as browser type and pages visited) to optimize our digital presence.
How We Use This Information
We use general business contact data strictly to fulfill your consulting requests, communicate about active projects, manage professional relationships, and deliver our instructional design services. We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information with third parties.
2. Mobile Applications Policy (e.g., ShiftGuard)
This section applies strictly to your use of mobile applications developed by The Guidepost, such as ShiftGuard.
The Local-First Principle: Zero Data Collection
Our mobile utilities are engineered following a strict local-first framework.
No Server Transmission: We do not collect, store, track, or harvest any data entered into our mobile applications. Every log, timestamp, category choice, and text note you input remains entirely on your physical device.
Client-Side Encrypted Storage: App data is saved locally on your physical hardware using local client-side storage mechanisms (AsyncStorage).
No Accounts or Analytics: Our apps do not require you to register an account, sign in, or provide an email address to function. We do not integrate third-party tracking cookies or behavioral analytics software.
User-Controlled Data Exporting
Any data exporting initiated within our apps (such as using the "Export" or "Share Sheet" features to compile a shift summary or a CSV file) is executed entirely under your native device operating system control. Your compiled files are processed through your device's native sharing architecture and are transmitted only to the destinations you explicitly choose (such as your own corporate email client or local file storage).
3. Data Security
We employ industry-standard organizational and physical safeguards to protect the limited operational data we collect during our general consulting activities. For our mobile apps, because data is entirely stored on your device, the ultimate security of your data relies on your personal device security settings (such as passcode, FaceID, or hardware encryption features).
4. Compliance with Privacy Frameworks
Because our applications do not collect or transmit user data to external servers, they are designed to easily maintain alignment with rigid regional workplace privacy standards, enterprise documentation rules, and institutional data compliance frameworks.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services or operational updates. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date."
